Healthy buckwheat flour (Kuttu ka Atta) dosa recipe for Navratri Fast!


Who said you can make dosa only with rice batter? Move over kuttu ka dosa and surprise your family members with healthy and delicious kuttu ka dosa, which you can easily make at home. 

Buckwheat dosa is made with buckwheat flour. Made specially during Navratri fasting. Healthy, gluten free ,vegan fruit based diet. 

Buckwheat  flour pancakes for NAVRATRI FAST !

Upwas kuttu ka Dosa is a type of pancake made with a mix of buckwheat flour eaten mainly during Fasting days.They are very healthy and easy to digest due to their fruit base.

 So let's look at this buckwheat (kuttu) dosa recipe.

Ingredients-

1 cup buckwheat flour

1/3 cup water chestnut flour

 rock salt to taste

1 tsp black pepper

2 green chilli chopped

1 tbsp Desi Ghee/ Clarified Butter/Oil

1 cup water to match pouring consistency


Method:

  1. All you need to do is, in a bowl add all the ingredients along with water and mix well. The batter should be runny like any other dosa batter.

 Keep it aside for 5 minutes.

  1. Heat the tawa and pour one ladle of the batter on the hot tawa and move the ladle in circular motion from left to right. Pour a little oil /ghee to roast.Once done, roast on the other side too and serve hot. You can also prepare stuffed Buckwheat Paratha in a similar way. 

 

Buckwheat Dosa


Buckwheat also known as kuttu, which is believed to be a grain is actually a seed of a plant crop. Being a superfood, it has a much higher nutritional value than other grains and is also a good for those avoiding gluten as it contains zero gluten. Buckwheat can be purchased not only ground into flour, but as toasted or untoasted whole groats (little pyramid shaped seeds). You can make the porridge, by cooking groats according to the packet's instructions. But why not get a little creative with this unique grain? Toasted buckwheat groats are crunchy and flavorful, like tiny nuts, and can be used like nuts, to top salads or enhance granola.
